Starting on the tools as a specialized composite technician, he deeply mastered the chemistry and handling of marine fiberglass and resins.
His precision led him into the elite Development Department, where he spent years hand-crafting the original plugs and production moulds used to shape multi-million-pound luxury motor yachts. He eventually progressed into senior management, taking full operational charge of complex boat movements and heavy-lifting operations.
This deep shipyard tenure means we don’t just understand boat damage—we understand exactly how luxury vessels are structurally engineered from the factory floor up.Driven by a passion for the trade, Steve previously launched Southcoast GRP. Working weekend shifts at Princess allowed him to run the business during the week, serving local clients who needed expert fiberglass work.
During this highly active chapter, he truly mastered the advanced art of UV-stable gelcoat color-matching, insurance-backed restorations, and complex ABS plastic welding. The business thrived, but when a prestigious day-shift promotion opened up back at Princess Yachts, he temporarily paused operations to focus entirely on leading that corporate division.
The passion for hands-on restoration and the independence of running a business never faded.
